Heya!

From now on for fave's, llama's and any watch I'm given, I may leave a little icon which is designed to express my thanks, they are pretty self explanatory and are freely available for use.
They can be found in my Scraps folder if anyone is interested: becarra.deviantart.com/gallery… (The grouped icons were made for use on my submissions.)

Naturally I customized the icons based on what programs and software I use, if you'd like some tailored for your use, please let me know what you want and I'll see if I can whip something up!

They are listed by group:

After some feedback from one or two people, I've decided to stop thanking for fave's, llama's and any watch I'm given in my usual manner, with DA media or linked images.

If I happen to use one of the above icons on your page instead of leaving a comment, please be assured that this is not done lightly. You know me, I love to comment, but when it's taking four or more hours a day to try and clear my notifications I needed to find a way to speed things up a bit. Naturally I'll still comment on things I like, but for gratitude I'll be using the above icons.

*NOTE! - The base template for these icons was not created by me, they were merely customized. They were made by the talented niccey.deviantart.com/ and here they are: Glossy Icon template part I

Hoping you all have a great week ahead!

Nice idea. I won't think any less of you for doing this. I think there becomes a point when the thanking becomes such a chore, that it's physically impossible to keep up with.

Hehe thank you. I hope you know I never find it a chore, I'm just finding it's taking longer and longer because I like to reply to almost everything hehe, which cuts down on my already limited time for actually making art :(

Well you know what I mean. I'm very grateful for all the comments and feedback that I receive, it just gets to be overwhelming sometimes. And there is a dark side to it also... Sometimes it can go on and on, if you let it, devouring all your personal time. It can get to the point where all you do is manage your DA account, I can see that now. I used to think the well known artists who didn't respond to comments or thank for faves were rude or stuck-up. I know better now. They just physically can't keep up with it and produce art at the same time. Time, art, personal life... it's all a juggling act. Some can, some can't. Hopefully everyone understands that. :)

I know what you mean, while I'm no where near those levels I can see how it can become sooo time consuming!

I too hope that everyone can understand this :)

Fabulous idea. Besides, you already reply to comments on your images, so that is good enough. :)

I'm totally with you on this. As you've seen I took this decision myself and will be thanking on the text on my render instead. I just takes more time from rendering and I think that, given a choice, people would choose the art in front of having thanks for each fave.

As you've no doubt noticed, my art has been pretty slow lately. Other than real life getting in the way, when I do get on DA it takes ages to get everything done.
By the time I'm finished I've lost the will to do art, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. Far from it, but as you said we lose rendering time.

Of course, it doesn't help that I keep getting distracted by leggy redheads either!

Well I can see it even more since your work is very elaborate. Filled to the brim with details large (!) and small, I'm guessing it does take a load of time. Do you have any average estimate for a complete finished render? Post work and all?

Oh those darn leggy redheads! We can't stand them I say! :D

Hmm. Well for example, 500 Watcher's took between 2-3 hours to set up with experimenting and posing, about 15 minutes render time and a further hour or so for postwork.

I can tell by a spot render roughly how long an image will take to fully render, and I've not had one take longer than an hour to do so unless I render the image in parts,

like Sarah's Valentine! Then it can take a couple of days, allowing for real life stuff.

Not as long as I thought though. You're fast!

Mine usually take around 4-6 hours, then I do a few poses for each model.

The longest things in my process is usually choosing the clothes that fit best for the model, and which hair. Then, without doubt, lighting and testrendering takes the longest time, about 30-50% of the whole time. Post work is usually reasonably quick, about 10-15 minutes or so.

The time is assuming I actually sit and just get on with it.
In reality it takes a bit longer because I'm inherently lazy!
